We regret that no allowance can be made for occasional absence from the hotel or meals not taken. Although we shall endeavour to maintain the rates, we reserve the right to alter them as necessary.

Please note the Tanfield is closed for maintenance from 2nd January, 2018 – 12th February, 2018 inclusive

Useful Information

Rooms
All Bedrooms en-suite with colour TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and hair dryers. There is a lounge with comfortable chairs and a sun terrace

Rooms are normally available by 3pm on the day of arrival. Guests are asked to vacate their bedrooms by 11am on the day of departure.

We operate a no-smoking policy throughout the building.

Disabilities and Special Needs: Please advise Reception when booking of any disability, medical condition or food allergy that could affect your stay.

Children: We regret no children under 10 years (please ensure that children are supervised in the dining room).

Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are accepted by prior arrangement at a charge of £8.50 per dog per night; they must be kept on a lead at all times. No admittance in the dining room.

Wi-Fi: Free wi-fi is available in the lounge.

Parking: Car Park at rear of Hotel

Mid-week bookings accepted.

Please note that the B&B is only staffed in the mornings. If further facilities are required (eg. bar, restaurant, etc.), these are available at The Cottage Hotel.

Single Occupancy: Single Occupancy Supplement will apply to any grade of double/twin Country View rooms – please contact our Reservations Team for further details.

Key Collection/Payment on Arrival: Please collect your room keys from The Cottage Hotel Reception (head into Village, turn left to Inner Hope, Hotel on your right at top of hill). REFUNDABLE £20.00 KEY DEPOSIT REQUIRED

Unconfirmed Bookings/Walk-Ins: FULL PAYMENT ON ARRIVAL PLEASE

Accounts: Can be settled by Cash, Cheque (payable to The Cottage Hotel) and Debit Cards. If a Credit Card is used we will add an additional 2% transaction fee to cover our banking charges.

Bookings/Advance Payment: All rooms are offered subject to being available on receipt of confirmation. To confirm a reservation we will ask for your credit or debit card details (or, if you prefer, a £50.00 cheque per room). If the reservation is cancelled and we are able to re-let the room(s) there will be no further charges and your deposit (if taken) will be refunded.

Cancellations: In the event of a cancellation within one month of your arrival and we are unable to relet the room(s) OR in the event of non-arrival, we reserve the right to charge the full cost of your booking. Every effort is made to re-let accommodation; holiday cancellation insurance cover is available, please ask for details.

Cancellations are only accepted by telephone and then in writing to the hotel. You will be issued with a cancellation number.
